
The course Educational Technology not only improved my understanding of the value of technology in the classroom, but it also taught me how to use technology to my advantage. I was very thrilled to begin the course in the first semester of the academic year 2021. My motivation for doing so stems from my fascination with technology and how beneficial it can be when used correctly. However, I have grown to respect the course much more. I've learned that educational technology refers to the technological or digital tools that instructors use in their classrooms to help students learn more effectively. The many theoretical frameworks associated with teaching and learning were reviewed in this course. The behaviorism, cognitive, and cognitivism theories of teaching and learning are examples of such theories. The behaviorist approach focuses on why students behave in a certain way, whereas the cognitive theory focuses on how students think. On the other hand, constructivist theory focuses on how students construct or generate new meaning, understanding, and knowledge of the world around them.
Furthermore, this course has emphasized innovation and peer collaboration at every turn. I was also shown how my colleagues use technology in their own unique way, which peaked my attention. Notably, I've learned about a variety of technology tools that I may utilize in my classroom, including Podcasts, WebQuests, Photostories, and interactive PowerPoints, each of which has its own unique set of characteristics that I will undoubtedly incorporate into my everyday classroom. During a Moodle class discussion, I was able to learn some new perspective from a student, which was quite helpful. Ultimately, the lecturer was approachable and accommodating, which enhanced the course flow and directions. Overall, I found the course to be enlightening, instructive, and entertaining, as I learned a lot.
