     The course Educational Technology not only improved my understanding of the value of technology in the classroom, but it also taught me how to use technology to my advantage. I was very thrilled to begin the course in the first semester of the academic year 2021. My motivation for doing so stems from my fascination with technology and how beneficial it can be when used correctly. However, I have grown to respect the course much more. I've learned that educational technology refers to the technological or digital tools that instructors use in their classrooms to help students learn more effectively. The many theoretical frameworks associated with teaching and learning were reviewed in this course. The behaviorism, cognitive, and cognitivism theories of teaching and learning are examples of such theories.  The behaviorist approach focuses on why students behave in a certain way, whereas the cognitive theory focuses on how students think. Why is it important for me as an educator to incorporate technology in education?         “Just like pencils and pens which plays a vital role in the classroom, technological devices should be seen just as important and should be integrated in the classroom”. Laptops and tablets have evolved into powerful learning tools that can be used in both the classroom and out in the field. Technology integration can provide an easy access to information, this is why having technology in the classroom is rather pivotal. However, the use of technological devices such as tablets and laptops are already widely present in the everyday life for both students and teachers. This is also why there is enough reason to believe that the use of technological devices in a classroom will improve students’ academic performance and research skills.
